I read with interest the article on dog fouling in the Gazette (June 10), particularly the quote from Ryedale District Council that “the dog fouling situation in Ryedale has improved in recent months, with more dog owners picking up after their animals ....”.
What evidence is there for such a statement?
However, on reading the article on the installation of pedestrian counting sensors (known as footfall counters) to measure the level of activity in Malton, I wonder if I might have stumbled across the answer. Has Ryedale District Council paid yet more consultants/contractors to install footfoul counters on our streets.
