I WOULD like to say a very big thank you to the people who voted in the Malton division in the county council elections.
While the Government continues its tailspin into the ground, it’s important that we recognise there is still an important job to do.
It matters who you choose to do that job, and the few seconds it took to put a cross on a ballot paper affects what happens locally in the next four years.
I am also, regardless of the election result, pursuing issues that I learned about on the doorstep.
Among them is the need for traffic calming on the newly surfaced road next to the Rainbow Lane play area, which I have already raised with the county council.
Thank you to all who made their views known at the ballot box and every single one of the 1,043 people who voted for positive change in Malton.
And thanks to our tremendous team who worked so hard to make it happen.
HOWARD KEAL, Norton
