THIS may be the last time I write to you as our forthcoming April meeting is a make-or-break attempt to keep the Scarborough branch of the Civil Service Pensioners’ Alliance (CSPA) as a viable option.
The meeting is to be held at 11am on Monday, April 20, at the Westborough Methodist Church, opposite the railway station, in Westborough, Scarborough.
This will be the 2009 AGM and the main speaker will be CSPA general secretary Mike Duggan, who is coming up from London specifically to review the situation and look at our future prospects.
In an effort to boost attendance, the meeting is open to all retired civil servants, and their friends, whether or not they are paying members of the CSPA. Both old and new members will receive a warm welcome.
As you know, the Scarborough branch has a large catchment area and covers Scarborough, Bridlington, Filey, Whitby, Pickering, Malton, Driffield and surrounding areas.
Ray Pollin, Scarborough
