Many campaigns for libraries – across the UK and in North Yorkshire – are magnificent, though too often acting in isolation.
Threats to proper libraries paid staff and profession librarians are marching – seemingly inexorably – on.
In North Yorkshire, crucial dates will be June 5 when North Yorkshire County councillors, who are members of the council’s scrutiny committtee, will meet to examine the proposals for our library service.
This is a public meeting at County Hall, in Northallerton.
On July 7, again in Northallerton the executive committee of the county council meet to make their decision on the service. Another public meeting.
Please will your readers watch the North Yorkshire County Council website (petitions etc) and follow the media.
