I WOULD like to say a huge thank-you to all of the people who supported the Midsummer afternoon tea and baking competition in aid of SASH (Safe and Sound Homes).
A special thanks to Ryedale Lions who paid for the hall and the Rotary club, which provided the junior prizes.
Also thanks to Pickering Chocolate Shop for the wonderful cake, which was first prize in the raffle.
All of the volunteers worked so hard and the young people from Guides, the youth group and Pickering Town Youth Council put in sterling work on the day, both waiting at tables and selling cakes.
Congratulations to the winners – we had 40 entries and raised £465.52.
Joan Lovejoy, Pickering
