HELMSLEY indie-rockers One Night Only return to live action with the announcement of their new single, Long Time Coming.

The single is being released this month to coincide with an 11-date UK tour, which culminates with a gig at The Duchess in York on April 28.

And we’ve got a pair of tickets to be won!

Five-piece One Night Only released their debut album in January 2008. They amassed legions of fans up and down the country from their constant touring, including a number of sold-out headline tours and festival appearances at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, and T in the Park.

Formed in 2003, the name came about when they were asked to play a gig and, not having come up with a name, they decided on One Night Only, intending the title to, literally, last for just one night. Their first gig was at Kirkbymoorside Memorial Hall in December 2003, which then became a regular venue.

Nowadays, three of the band members, including lead singer George Craig, are based in London with the other two still living in the north, but they do come back to rehearse in their Helmsley studio and see family.

“We’re really excited about getting back to releasing new material in the UK,” said George, when he spoke to the Gazette in November.

The tour starts on Monday, April 16 and takes in Liverpool, Norwich, Nottingham, Newcastle and London, among others. Tickets for the York gig cost £10 at 08444 771000 or www.theduchessyork.co.uk

• We have teamed up with The Duchess to give a pair of tickets away to one lucky reader.
