WASTE bosses have urged North Yorkshire residents to recycle their Christmas trees.
The region’s waste recycling centres can be used to recycle the trimmings and also tin or aluminium foil, glass, cardboard and Christmas cards, as well as plastic bottles, paper and cardboard, food and drink cans, batteries and glass jars and bottles. Wrapping paper can also be delivered, but cannot be recycled because some of it contains metal.
The centres are open six days a week from 8.30am to 4pm, but are closed tomorrow, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, as well as on Wednesdays.
