JUDGES from Britain in Bloom are preparing to visit a village in North Yorkshire which was the victim of a saboteur earlier this year.
Volunteers from Cayton, near Scarborough, have worked with staff from the council to restore the flower beds which were poisoned with weedkiller sodium chlorate in May.
Private security staff were hired to guard the displays after the attack, and the village hopes to repeat last year’s gold medal success when judges visit next Wednesday.
