FIREFIGHTERS were called in to deal with a blaze at cliffs in North Yorkshire over the weekend which is believed to have been started by arsonists.
The alarm was raised at 9.20pm on Saturday, as the flames stretched across 250 square metres of the patch of land in Scarborough.
Fire crews from the town and Snainton used beaters to control the fire, which North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said was thought to have been started deliberately.
* FIRE crews were called to a garage in Scarborough after the building was set alight by burning items left by the side of it.
The alarm was raised at about 12.25am on Saturday in Northstead Manor Drive, Scarborough, with the incident leaving part of the garage damaged.
Fire crews said the items which were being burned nearby had been left unattended and the flames had spread to the building.
