RESIDENTS in a North Yorkshire market town will get the chance to discuss local crime concerns with police chiefs next week.
A meeting between the police and the local community will take place at the Galtres Centre in Easingwold, from 7pm on Thursday.
Inspector Val Broadley, from Thirsk, and Sergeant Simon Hepburn, from Easingwold, will be attending the meeting, as will North Yorkshire Police Authority member Coun Caroline Patmore. Local crime statistics and targets will be presented to the meeting, and there will also be a question-and-answer session.
Meanwhile, students at Easingwold School were able to quiz Labour Euro-MP for Yorkshire David Bowe about the work of the European Parliament when he took part in a question-and-answer session. Mr Bowe was at the school to meet an audience of 200 pupils for a lively debate on the increasingly important role the EU will play in their lives.
