FILM critic Barry Norman is coming to North Yorkshire this spring to share his stories of life on and off the silver screen.

Mr Norman, 76, who fronted the BBC’s Film show before it was taken over by Jonathan Ross, will be hosting an Audience With Barry Norman at the Black Swan Hotel in Helmsley on Thursday, May 20.

Organisers say he will share stories of his life as a film critic, journalist and novelist and speak freely about his experiences with some of Hollywood’s best known stars.

“He will also be lifting the lid on what life is really like for celebrities when the cameras stop rolling, from love quarrels between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton to the off-screen antics of legends such as John Wayne, Robert De Niro, Steven Spielberg, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ewan McGregor, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.”

Tickets cost £37.50 per person, including a three-course dinner with coffee.
