FARNDALE Show on August Bank Holiday Monday has been called off because of the ground conditions.
It would have been the 102nd show to be held in the famous dale near Kirkbymoorside but secretary Beryl Smith said it had proved impossible to erect the marquees because of rain-sodden conditions and trucks had already got stuck on Tuesday night.
