Residents are being invited to help shape future improvements to their community through a series of public events.

City of York Council is hosting drop-in sessions in Haxby to gather feedback on early-stage proposals as part of a wider vision for the area.

Funding has been secured from the Mayoral Investment Fund, part of the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, to support the development of new projects.

Councillor Pete Kilbane, executive member for economy and culture, said: "We've had a number of very positive conversations with local residents previously and have identified some areas which could be improved within existing funding available."

Proposals include repairs to the Ethel Ward playing field bandstand mosaic, additional public benches, improvements to The Village, and a quieter cycle route.

If approved, these improvements could be delivered in 2027.

Cllr Kilbane added: "Our aim is to have a pipeline of future projects partly designed and ready for when any future funding opportunities arise.

"We want to get this right, so make sure you have your say."

Residents can also complete an online survey at www.york.gov.uk/Haxby, or request a hard copy by contacting the council.

The deadline for feedback is December 9, 2026.

The online survey can be filled out at: www.york.gov.uk/Haxby
