An obstruction is blocking one lane of a main road in York this morning (Friday, September 11).
Reminder - A1079 road from York to Hull to close for resurfacing works
A road roller is behind cones on the eastbound lane of the A1079 outside Dunnington, close to the layby where The Scrap Box fish and chip shop is located.
Temporary traffic lights were controlling the flow of traffic, according to eyewitnesses and York-bound traffic was queueing as far back as Dunnington village, before the morning rush hour.
Overnight resurfacing work is running from York Road in Dunnington along a three-mile stretch to Kexby.
This includes a scheduled closing of the A1079 in the area from 8pm to 6am, until the morning of Saturday, September 19.
