A local GP surgery has announced details of its upcoming vaccination clinics.

Derwent Practice is preparing for the 2026 flu and COVID vaccination season, with flu clinics beginning on Thursday, October 1, including a Saturday, October 3, session.

COVID boosters will also be available, with both vaccines being administered together for eligible over-75s and immunosuppressed patients.

Flu vaccines will also be offered to pregnant women and children aged 2 or 3 years old on August 31, 2026, from the beginning of September.

The practice is encouraging patients to book their appointments by visiting the practice or calling 01653 600069.

The NHS annually preps for the flu's unpredictability, which can be severe for older people, young children, pregnant women, and those with underlying health conditions or who are immunosuppressed.
