CREWS remain at the scene of a fire which began after lightning struck two barns in North Yorkshire yesterday evening (Sunday).
Crews from Malton, Kirkbymoorside, Scarborough and Tadcaster's water bowser responded to the barns on fire at 8.32 at Kirby Misperton.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said one of the barns was empty the other had straw in it.

They added: "A dam was set up to cool three propane cylinders, crews monitored the temperature using a thermal imaging camera.
"Four hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire.
"Fire crews remain in scene at this incident, fire investigation to be conducted in daylight hours."
Posting on social media, property owner William Easterby said: "Just to let everyone know Lottie, Miles and I are ok after the barn fires last night. Thank you to everyone who came up to help us and for all your kind messages.
"We are extremely grateful to all the Fire crews who attended and did such an amazing job to contain the fires."
