Seven members of Malton Community Sports Centre are preparing for a 24-hour cycling challenge.

Glyn Barker, Chris Bilsborrow, Daisy Bloom, Justyna Hannon, Lynda Fairclough, Jess Bardet, and Jennie Johnson will cycle continuously in one-hour shifts to raise funds for the Macmillan 'Stand up to cancer' appeal.

The event is set to take place from Saturday, September 5, at 10am, until Sunday, September 6, at 10am.

The event organisers said the cause "may well have touched all of us in some way".

A coffee morning will kick off the event from 10am to noon, offering cakes, tea, and coffee for a small donation.

All proceeds will go to the charity, and collection buckets will also be available, with the public encouraged to attend, enjoy a treat, and support the riders.
