Filey Academy is celebrating the achievement of Year 11 students, with another year of improved results.
Hayley Pegg, Principal, said: “Huge congratulations to Year 11! They put in so much effort and have gained some fantastic results. They deserve the success they are now enjoying. Importantly, these great results mean that our young people now have so many choices and opportunities ahead of them. Well done!”
As well as impressive outcomes across the academy, there were many examples of superb individual achievements from students such as Noah, Joe, Ben and Emily, with so many others who could also be included.
Associate Vice Principal and Year 11 lead, Jordan Philliskirk, said: " We are incredibly proud of the class of 2026. This is Filey's strongest set of GCSE results for many years. This is a very exciting period in the academy's history, and these results show the academy's continual improvement. We wish our students the very best in their future and look forward to seeing them make their mark on the world."
Year 11 Learning Manager, John Emmerson, was thrilled for all students, including those who had worked to overcome personal challenges at the same time as working hard for their exams.
He said: "Today was a day to celebrate students. We hope our young people took a moment to recognise just how far they've come and that hard work truly pays off. They've shown incredible resilience and we are so proud of them."
With students celebrating with friends and family, Miss Pegg thanked parents, carers and colleagues for the vital part they played in supporting the success of Year 11 and wished students well as they move on to enjoy the exciting times ahead of them.
