Two Yorkshire distilleries have created the first-ever collaborative English blended malt whisky.
Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery in Hunmanby and York-based Cooper King Distillery joined forces to produce Many Hands, a limited release and Yorkshire’s first blended malt whisky.
The partnership began when Cooper King faced a potential nine-month production pause due to a fault in its Tasmanian copper pot still.
Joe Clark, whisky director at Spirit of Yorkshire, said: "It was a straightforward decision for us to help out a fellow distillery in need, especially a neighbour.
"Although it’s rare to see an open collaboration, it’s not surprising to us - behind the scenes this industry is one of the most collegiate and cooperative in the world, and it’s time we showed that side to whisky drinkers."
The whisky is priced at £95, with £1 from each bottle donated to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust to support apprenticeships and habitat conservation.
