A NORTH Yorkshire agricultural show which aims to showcase the best of rural life returns tomorrow (Wednesday).

The 105th Annual Thornton Le Dale Show takes place at the showfield in Maltongate.

The show includes something for everyone with entertainment available throughout the day.

There is free car parking on the field including five rows of disabled parking.

A spokesperson for the show said the committee has been joined by some new volunteers this year and plans are going well in setting up the show to ensure they have a good day on Wednesday and also with plans for the dismantling from Thursday onwards.

They added: "We are delighted that Mr Nick Hargrave is our President this year and we wish him a good day.

"There are the usual horses & ponies, heavy horses, decorated horse & driving, sheep, pigs, goats, ferrets, vintage tractors, rare & minority cattle and sheep, fur & feather.

"Other classes include produce, craft and horticulture classes, dairy, handicrafts, photography & art, children's classes, wi classes, shepherds' crooks and walking sticks, farm & garden produce, flowers & flower arranging, woodworking, fleeces, fruit liqueurs & scarecrow competition.

"Also, there are some of the usual displays from Jamie Squibb, Falconry and Ferret Roadshow, Billy Biscuit (children's entertainer) Farla Vale Gun Dogs, unaffiliated dog show, BMX show, professional wrestling, working terrier and lurcher show and the usual evening sports for both children and adult as well as Fancy dress on foot and on horseback."

The spokesperson added: "We also have live music throughout the day and this year an exciting new addition. Come along and see and listen. You won't be disappointed.

"We have a maximum capacity of Trade Stands if you feel like some retail therapy and lots of opportunities to grab something to eat and drink. So, there is something for everyone. Please come along and if next year you would like to help in some way, just come along and speak to one of the secretaries at the Sports Pavillion. If you would like to volunteer you will receive free entry and refreshments.

"We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday and would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make this traditional village show happen. Thank you everyone."
