A charity cricket match will make its return this summer in support of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Now in its third year, the Slingsby Charity Cricket Match will take place on Sunday, July 12, at Slingsby Sports Club, with the match starting at 1pm.

A spokesperson for the Slingsby Charity Cricket Team said: "We're delighted to be bringing back the Slingsby Charity Cricket Match for its third year.

"After the fantastic support we received last year, raising over £6,800 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, we’re proud to be supporting the charity once again & are hoping to make this year’s event even bigger and better."

The event promises something for everyone, with a hog roast, licensed bar, live music into the evening, charity auction, raffle, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.

Organisers hope to create "a real community event while raising as much money as possible for a fantastic cause".

The spokesman added the charity relies on public donations to fund its emergency service, saying: "We’re also incredibly grateful to the local businesses, volunteers and sponsors whose generosity helps make the event possible, and we look forward to welcoming everyone for what promises to be a fantastic day."
