A farm shop in Pickering has welcomed a group of butchery apprentices on a study visit.
Students from Bishop Burton College visited Cedarbarn Farm Shop in Thornton Road as part of a study tour exploring five different butchery businesses.
Paul Nicholson, lead butchery assessor and IQA at Bishop Burton, said: "The students saw the art of displaying meat, meat products and the vast range of added-value products that can be made from butchery cuts."
Cameron McNicoll, an advanced butchery apprentice who works at Cedarbarn, gave the group an overview of the business, including shop displays, special offers, and added-value products.
Cedarbarn’s head butcher, Patrick Donaghy, led a guided tour of the butchery, counter, and hanging facilities, describing the visit as "very enjoyable".
Cedarbarn’s butchery team of seven prepares home-reared beef and lamb, alongside Yorkshire pork and poultry, for the Farm Shop and the 80-seater Café.
