Lanterns are set to light up a coastal town once again with the return of a popular night-time event.
Moonlight on the Lake will once again transform Scarborough’s Peasholm Park into a glowing wonderland of lanterns and light installations.
Organised by North Yorkshire Council in partnership with Animated Objects, the event will take place on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24.
Cllr Simon Myers, executive member for arts and culture at North Yorkshire Council, said: "After the tremendous success of last year’s Moonlight on the Lake, it’s really important that we continue to build on that momentum and keep raising the bar for what this event can offer.
"It has quickly become a highlight in Scarborough’s cultural calendar, bringing people together through creativity, heritage and shared experiences."
More than 10,000 people attended last year’s event, and organisers hope to attract even more visitors this year.

Moonlight on the Lake will celebrate Scarborough 400, marking the town’s heritage as England’s first seaside spa resort.
This year’s displays will include illuminated artworks created with the help of the local community.
Dawn Dyson-Threadgold, one of the directors of Animated Objects, said: "We’re delighted to be bringing Moonlight on the Lake back to Peasholm Park this year.
"It’s such a beautiful and well-loved park, and the reflections on the water are truly spectacular as evening falls.
"We’re also really excited to be showcasing a number of illuminations we’ve worked on with the local community as part of the Scarborough 400 display."
Tickets cost £3 for adults plus a 50p booking fee.
