A new public electric vehicle hub is helping to boost sustainable transport options in York.
E.ON Drive has launched its first public charging hub in the city in the car park behind George Hudson Street, near the city centre.
The site, accessed via North Street behind Mill House, features four 300kW CSS combo chargers capable of charging eight cars simultaneously.

Mithat Kucukkoylu, co-owner of York’s long-standing Turkish restaurant Kapadokya, said: "Increasingly, we’ve had people asking about this so it’s going to be good news for our customers, and for the other businesses in George Hudson Street which is becoming a bit of a destination for lovers of independent restaurants and international cuisine."
The new hub is expected to benefit residents in the Micklegate area, particularly those living in terraced housing with limited access to EV charging facilities.
Will Zhuang, owner of The Orchid Vegan Restaurant, also based on George Hudson Street, welcomed the new facility.
He said: "Obviously this is positive news for us, for our customers whether they are local to York or who drive into the city from the surrounding villages, and for the tourist visitors we welcome in the restaurant, many of whom are staying in nearby city-centre hotels."
