A village in North Yorkshire is gearing up to celebrate a weekend of festivities.

Slingsby's Scarecrow Weekend and May Day celebrations are set to run from May 2 to 4.

The events will include a popular scarecrow trail, with trail sheets available from a pop-up café in the Methodist Chapel.

The café will provide home-baked cakes, refreshments, and pre-loved children's books and games from 10am to 4pm each day.

On the bank holiday Monday, the festivities will kick off with a car boot sale on the sports field.

The same day, a mix of live music, Maypole dancing, singing, and various stalls will animate the green, all arranged by the Slingsby Maypole committee.

Completing the scarecrow trail gives participants a chance to enter a prize draw to win a day pass to Woldies.

The array of entertainment ensures a packed day until the celebrations end at 3pm.
