A NORTH Yorkshire doctor's surgery has been forced to cancel appointments this morning (Friday) due to a burst water main.

Derwent Practice, in Norton, said it was running a limited service due to the lack of water.

A spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, due to a burst water main in the area we have no water supply at the Practice, this means that we are only able to run a limited service and we will be contacting affected patients.

"We have contacted the water board for an update, and have been advised that an inspection team are on site currently with an update due to come in the next hour.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause, however this is unfortunately beyond on our control.

"We will keep you updated as and when we receive further updates."
