DAME Judi Dench is encouraging the public to get involved in a special charity auction.

The "Quintessentially Bond" auction is raising funds for York Against Cancer and is being run through MovieManiaOnline.

Each year they sell a series of lots where 100% of the hammer price, plus the buyer’s premium, are donated to a charity.

This year’s auction, which opens on Sunday 8 March 2026 at 1pm GMT and closes on Sunday 22 March 2026 at 1pm GMT, features more than 25 lots of James Bond memorabilia and experiences.

Bidders can get the chance to climb the O2 Arena like Pierce Brosnan in The World is Not Enough, ride in an Aston Martin as seen in Goldfinger, or take home original props and artefacts from the films.

As a patron of the charity, Dame Judi is helping promote the auction and encourage fans to get involved.

The Oscar-winning actress, who was born in York and is a proud patron of York Against Cancer, starred as M in the Bond franchise.

York Against Cancer said: “We’re incredibly grateful to MovieManiaOnline for choosing to support us with their Charity Auction this year, and to Dame Judi Dench for sharing her support for this brilliant event. We’re honoured to have Dame Judi Dench as our Charity patron, and are thrilled to be partnering with MovieManiaOnline on such a fantastic and poignant theme. We can’t wait to see what Lots are available!”

Andy Simpson, founder of MovieManiaOnline, said: “James Bond is a legacy that has undoubtedly stood the test of time. We are honoured to be hosting this fascinating auction, which will not only provide an insight into the revolutionary filmmaking of Bond but will raise funds for York Against Cancer, who’s pioneering work is absolutely crucial in supporting those in North & East Yorkshire.”

York Against Cancer provides a wide range of support services across York, North Yorkshire, and East Yorkshire.

These include a free minibus service to transport patients to radiotherapy appointments at St James’s Hospital in Leeds, two luxury respite properties for patients and their families, a mobile chemotherapy unit, and a cancer support centre based at York Community Stadium.

The auction continues until 1pm GMT on Sunday 22 March 2026, offering fans two weeks to place their bids on a piece of Bond history while supporting a cause close to Dame Judi’s heart.
