A BRIDGE connecting a North Yorkshire town has reopened.

Whitby Swing Bridge was closed to traffic over the Easter weekend.

The bridge will close again with the exception of buses each weekend.

It will be closed between 10.30am and 4pm each day to improve pedestrian safety and to support the town’s economy.

The closures are taking place on weekends in the school holidays, as well as on bank holidays and special events - a full list of closures are available on the North Yorkshire Council website.
