A NEW McDonald's restaurant is to open near Malton later this year bringing up to 120 jobs to the area.

The company has now confirmed that it will open the site in late 2025.

Councillors unanimously approved a proposal by Malton landowner the Fitzwilliam Trust for a McDonald’s restaurant and two other outlets on land north of Edenhouse Avenue, as part of the Eden Business Park, close to the A64 last year.

Plans were approved for number of illuminated McDonald signs last month

The fast food company has been granted permission by North Yorkshire Council to display of two illuminated 'McDonald's' lettering signs, one illuminated McDonald's 'golden arch' logo, three double-sided banner frames, two illuminated 'Collect' lettering signs, one. illuminated 'Pay' lettering sign, five illuminated digital signs, one illuminated drive totem, one. height restriction goalpost, two drive-thru canopies, and 26 DOT signs.

Work has now begun on the site with the development expected to generate 95 full-time direct and indirect jobs during construction and £5m of spend in the local economy annually.

A McDonald’s Spokesperson said: “We are excited about the opportunity to open a restaurant in Malton in late 2025. The restaurant will bring significant investment to the local area and deliver up to 120 full and part-time jobs.”
