Rehearsals are well underway for Pickering Musical Society's October concert, which will pay tribute to a legendary songwriting duo.
The concert, titled Wonders of the West End, will feature selected hits by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe who, better known shorthand as Lerner and Loewe, are responsible for works including Gigi, Brigadoon, and Camelot.
Their partnership, with Mr Lerner as lyricist and librettist and Mr Loewe as composer, produced nine musicals between 1942 and 1972.
Music from Half a Sixpence, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cats, Mamma Mia!, Oliver!, and Waitress will feature in October's concert.
The society is once again collaborating with the Kirkbymoorside-based Sarah-Louise Ashworth School of Dance.
More than 40 young dancers from the school will take to the stage for the performance, alongside junior members of Pickering Musical Society.
In total, the production will feature more than 75 performers.
Wonders of the West End will run nightly from October 10 to October 13 at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced at £14, are available from The Kirk Theatre box office, which is open every Tuesday between 11am and 1pm; by phone on 01751 474833; or online at www.kirktheatre.co.uk
