A van driver has been assaulted following a crash in a busy York shopping street.
North Yorkshire Police said a white Citroen van and a bike, ridden by a young male, crashed into each other at the junction of Parliament Street and Market Street - outside the Size? shoe shop.
The force added that it happened on August 22, at around 10.48am.
"We have obtained CCTV of this incident and we are still trying to identify the cyclist, who we believe was involved in an altercation afterwards that led to the driver being assaulted," a spokesperson said.
"We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the van or bike prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
"If you were the cyclist, please make contact."
