Students at Ampleforth College have been congratulated on their GCSE results.

The results saw 23% of Year 11 awarded seven or more results at grades 9-7.

Peter Roberts, Headteacher, said: "We are celebrating great GCSE results for Ampleforth and well done to all our students who worked really hard and have been rewarded accordingly for their efforts. I would like to thank our excellent school staff who give so much beyond the classroom to help our students do their very best, running support classes, revision sessions, and being available to help with individual questions whenever needed. Congratulations to you all for this fantastic collective effort.”

Twins Emily and Louisa were delighted with their GCSE results.

Emily, who is a Lance Corporal in the Army section of the CCF and has just completed a Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, was awarded 3x9s 3x8s, 4x7s. Louisa was awarded 4x9s, 3x8s, 1x7, 2x6s. Both girls are planning to start studying Politics, History, Christian Theology and Geography at A level.

Hattie gained 6x9s, 1x8, 2x7s, 1x6 and A* in her challenging Higher Project Qualification on Could hydrogen fuel replace electric vehicles? A keen member of the RAF section of the CCF, she has recently been promoted to Corporal after successful completion of the Junior Cadet Instructors Cadre. Hattie plans to start studying Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Christian Theology at A level.

A Sports Scholar and elite hockey player, day student Noah achieved 1x9, 1x8, 7x7s and 1x6. Noah plans to start studying Economics, Psychology, Christian Theology, and Ancient History at A level.
