AN ongoing police incident has closed a footpath in York this morning (August 15).
North Yorkshire Police say the pedestrian route is closed and are asking people to avoid the area in New Walk between Skeldergate and Blue Bridges.
A spokesman said: “Please be aware that we have have temporarily closed the riverside path from Skeldergate Bridge to Blue Bridge (New Walk) while we investigate the scene of a reported crime.
“Please use an alternative pedestrian route to and from the city centre until further notice.
“An update and appeal will be posted later this morning.”
