A BUSINESS recently opened inside a ‘previously neglected’ building in a North Yorkshire town is launching a summer of weekly-run events.
Brew & Bite, a new café in Thirsk, has announced a summer programme for children.
The location in Market Place has a playroom on the first floor.
Events take place every Thursday throughout the summer holidays and next up is a Colouring Challenge today (August 8) and every child who takes part will receive a free drink.
Business owner Eleanor Fletcher said: “We are so thrilled to be open in Thirsk and now to have these weekly events for kids scheduled.
“Our unique playroom space, gives us the chance to create fun events.
“We also have some evening events planned in for grown-ups.
“Keep an eye out on our social media channels for supper clubs from Lordy’s Thrive Kitchen and further craft workshops coming in the autumn months.”
Launched earlier this summer, Brew & Bite is part of the development of a former restaurant space that had been empty for some time.
A spokesperson said bringing new life to this 'previously neglected' building has been a passion of the joint tenants Brew & Bite café and Ouch Potato fitness studio.
The business says the first-floor playroom aimed at the under-fives is unique in Thirsk.
Future events aim to cater to all ages and will include a Squishmallows Social on 22nd August and a Teddy Bears’ Picnic on 29th August.
The events will be free to attend.
The café already plays host to the Lordy’s Thrive Kitchen supper clubs which are crafted by local food hero and teacher, Chris Lord.
