The 33rd annual Slingsby duck race takes place next month.
Entry is free, with a variety of good old-fashioned attractions on offer ranging from bouncy castles, a tombola, hook-a-duck and splat-a-rat, and face painting to name a few, complete with home-baked refreshments.
A spokesperson for the Friends of Slingsby School (FOSS), which organises the event, said: "We’re absolutely delighted to also see the return of our ‘Star’ Chef Andrew Pern, owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant The Star Inn at Harome, who will be providing and cooking a mouthwatering BBQ menu on the day to boot.
"The fun starts at 11am on the Slingsby Sports Field with the Duck Race officially starting at 2pm. Shortly after the ducks have crossed the line, we will announce the lucky winner of the £50 1st place prize winner, the last place prize winner, and draw the winners of our raffle which includes a voucher for a meal at The Star Inn at Harome, concluding the day’s events at 3pm."
Duck sponsors and raffle tickets can be bought on the day or we will be at various locations in the lead up to the event, details of which can be found on the Friends of Slingsby School Facebook page.
The spokesperson added: "Not only will you have a wonderful time out, but you will help us raise funds for our much-loved village school. We hope to see you there."
