Members of Victory Lodge of Mark Master Mason visited Ryedale Special Families (RSF) recently to present a cheque for £1,000.

Charity Steward Eric Barrett and Master Steve Berry met with Chair of Trustees Caroline Shepherdson and Chief Officer Lisa Keenan.

The Victory Lodge said they were pleased to help the local charity which supports families of disabled children with their new building project which is currently taking place in Pickering. The Lodge provides grants to a wide range of local causes.

RSF Chief Officer, Lisa Keenan said: "This donation from the Lodge is hugely appreciated. The local community have really rallied round the charity to help make our building a reality. The support from the Masons means a lot and will be put to great use creating our new base.’

The new building will enable Ryedale Special Families to improve their local services and develop new services for families with disabled children. It is an important community project which has been years in the planning and building is now underway.

Chair of Trustees, Caroline Shepherdson said, ‘Now that the builders have started the project it is very exciting. Our new building will be a fantastic resource to local families, it will help us improve our service to them. The support from the Masons, other community groups and individuals is helping RSF reach our target to complete the building – we are very close!’
