Most readers are probably unaware that a grubby brown plaque near the entrance to the Old Town Hall (now a restaurant) in Malton Market Place commemorates the famous Edmund Burke, 18th Century MP for Malton, who described our current political situation about 300 years ago when he said: “Whenever Parliament is persuaded to assume the offices of Executive Government it will lose all the confidence, love and veneration which it has ever enjoyed whilst it was supposed to be the corrective and control on the acting powers of the State…..”

In other words the House of Commons is NOT supposed to be part of the government, but “the traditional protector of our liberty” (Hailsham).

Burke goes on to describe the various factions struggling for power which we witnessed recently between the “families” in the Tory Party, which puts the struggle for POWER of a small section of the nation over the remainder as the central purpose of the political process, instead of good constitutional government.

Many Conservative readers will be desperately wondering how to vote this next time?

They should understand this: the whole political party system is the (Marxist) attack on our lawful constitution in that it destroys the separation of powers about which Burke was warning, requiring you to consent to the entire contents of a party manifesto of your choice.

The candidate you elect will be paid by you but will vote in all matters pertaining to the manifesto as directed by the party (as does Hollinrake). As an MP AND a Minister he is also in violation of the Act of Settlement 1701, but all the laws of our ancient constitution which once kept us a free people are violated by the party system.

Martin Cruttwell, Hamilton House, Scrayingham If voters wonder why this includes the Conservative Party this is the clever trick.

1) Not only was Marxism adopted by Labour after WW2 “from each according to his ability; TO each according to his need” (Marx) but the Tories deemed it (Marxian Socialism) “inevitable” and they would simply manage it better than Labour!!

2) Also- every party manifesto is a “collective” or “package trick” which means that if you consent to any part of the manifesto you are deemed to have consented (very important constitutional word) to the entire contents!!

3) The Conservative Party is boasted as being a “broad church”. This obviously includes Marxists in pin-stripe suits. Take for instance the invasion at Dover (Marx said the English would not make their own revolution, one would have to be imported) where the needs of the invading migrants are not only costing us £6m a day (“to each according to his need”(Marx) but the Marxists in government are making sure time- wasting legislation on Rwanda plus RNLI/Border Force assistance makes the invasion ongoing, as we fulfill our “international obligations” (Sunak) Readers will be familiar with Hailsham’s (Con) expression “elective dictatorship” (i.e. the manifesto trick in action) and before Edward Heath practiced the “manifesto trick” on us in the election of 1970 Hailsham warned:” It is the Parliamentary majority which has the potential for tyranny” . So, in 1970 many traditional Conservatives voted Heath because of “law & order” “defence” and Heath got his “majority” but in a corner, played down as “trade, no more no less” was the bit about joining the EC!!! We got 48 years in a Marxist EU.

In 1972, to try to prevent this we the people, 750,000 of us, claimed our ancient Petition of Right to the Queen to stop Heath. It was ignored as the sovereign is deemed a puppet of the politicians. Another part of our ancient constitution gone!! Do you wonder you feel helpless today?

We only escaped as this time, (unlike 1972) thanks to the internet WE communicated better than government. Brexit arrived.

The cynical arrival of Johnson as Leader and the 2019 manifesto produced a “majority” of 80 and we got the tyranny of Covid, lockdown,HS2, Net Zero etc. POWER corrupts and the absolute power of a “majority” absolutely.

May I repeat: the whole political party system is the attack on our constitution and Labour is merely the “left wing “ of the revolution of which Tory is the “right wing”. Reform is a waste of time because they cannot possibly achieve POWER.
