I ASK all of your readers to write to their Westminster representatives urging them to demand from our government an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

So far, such calls have elicited little more than the following, recently received: “….. I welcome that the UK Government is supporting a sustainable ceasefire.”

Is the adjective the device enabling our government to continue to condone this mass murder?

We must look beyond the words. What exactly does our government think is happening in Gaza?

Ask them to imagine themselves in such a hell?

Could they watch with a clear conscience the unimaginable suffering inflicted upon their own kin and still take solace in the fact that the UK is striving for “sustainability”.

First things first. Stop this rape of a people, of human beings like you and me. Sustainability can only follow a ceasefire. It may not, but the ceasefire is still worthwhile on so many fronts. History will judge us on this.

Only by such intervention with government can we hope to influence what appears to be the racist disregard for the fate of all non-Whites. We have recently witnessed the power of the people to affect the course of domestic history; why not in other contexts?
