Hot sunshine has broken to torrential and thundery showers across Ryedale.
Localised flooding is expected as the downpours continue into the evening.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said there would be heavy and locally thundery showers along coastal areas, then a fine and dry night with clear spells and patchy low cloud over the western hills.
"Some light winds, feeling fresher than of late. Minimum temperature 11 °C.
"Monday will be a fresher-feeling day. Sunny at first but some scattered showers spreading eastwards later, some of these still potentially thundery in places though fewer and less organised than on Sunday. Maximum temperature 23 °C."
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
More changeable than of late, with temperatures consequently nearer normal. Cloudy with some rain Tuesday, probably brightening up through Wednesday ahead of a more showery Thursday. Breezy at times.
