A BOOKSHOP in Pickering is to host well-known Yorkshire poets at an upcoming event.
Pickering Book Tree, Market Place, is to host Olivia Mulligan, Paul Mills, and Andy Croft on Tuesday, April 11, from 7pm.
Each poet will perform for twenty minutes, with opportunities for signings and conversation on the night.
Olivia Mulligan was appointed BBC Radio York’s Poet Laureate in 2021 and shares poetry on the radio station every month.
Her first poetry collection, ‘Poems on the Gatepost’, was compiled during lockdown when she pinned a poem outside her home each day for passers-by to read.
Since then, she has had two further poetry collections published, run workshops, and performed on stage.
Paul Mills has had several poetry collections published since his debut work, ‘North Carriageway’, was published in 1976.
He has taught across England and in Edinburgh, held writing fellowships, and won awards for his poetry - including the Gregory Award from the Society of Authors.
