STAFF at a North Yorkshire manufacturer are to travel to London this week to celebrate International Woman’s Day.

The global awareness day takes place tomorrow and aims to shine a light on the achievements that women have made in the cultural, political, and socioeconomic spheres.

It also provides the opportunity to highlight the work that still needs to be done, as well as what can be done, to create a more gender-equal world.

Staff at Ellis Patents, in Rillington, will be celebrating International Woman's Day in London this week, with the team attending the Data Centre World exhibition at Excel Centre. 

The manufacturer designs, engineers, and sells cable cleats.

A spokesperson for Ellis Patents, said the firm has a 50 strong workforce, virtually a third of whom are women.

“This reflects favourably on the engineering industry as a whole, which in 2022 reported 16.5 per cent of all engineers were women,” they added.
