MULTIPLE fire crews were called to a barn fire in Ryedale.
Crews from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside responded to the reports of the barn fire in Little Barugh, near Malton, at 9.58pm last night (March 2).
Upon their arrival, a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said a small fire was located in the barn, which contained 15 horses.
Fortunately, the spokesperson confirmed that all the animals were safely removed prior to the arrival of the fire crews.
“Crews used one hose reel jet, small tools and lighting to extinguish the fire,” they said.
“The cause was believed to be electrical.”
