CELEBRATIONS are underway at a Norton hair and beauty school following a string of competitions.

High achieving students and apprentices at The Academy, in Commercial Street, competed in hairdressing and beauty therapy competitions this week.

These were internal competitions to decide which students would go forward to compete in regional and national competitions held by the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists.

The specialist training school also has branches in Scarborough and Whitby.

It works in partnership with Malton School, Whitby Sixth Form, Scarborough 6th Form, in addition to salons and spas in Scarborough, Whitby, and across North Yorkshire to deliver government funded courses and apprenticeships.
