DRIVERS in and around Ryedale will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A64, from 8pm February 13 to 6am April 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Staxton, traffic signals for carriageway improvements.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A64, from 9.30am February 20 to 3.30pm February 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 westbound, Brambling fields to Pickering, Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A64, from 8pm February 20 to 6am April 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Claxton, traffic signals for drainage works.

• A64, from 8pm February 20 to 6am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Musley to Pickering, Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A64, from 9pm February 20 to 5am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Rillington, traffic signals for carriageway resurfacing.

• A64, from 9pm February 20 to 5am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Rillington, traffic signals for carriageway resurfacing.

• A64, from 8pm February 22 to 6am February 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound, Sherburn, lane closure for YW works.

• A64, from 9.30am March 6 to 3.30pm March 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Hopgrove to Whitewell, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A64, from 9pm March 6 to 5am March 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, High hutton, traffic signals for sign works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
