Yorkshire and North East farmers are invited to a meeting at Thirsk Auction Mart to discuss support to enhance their business

 

Farmers can benefit from free one to one business and environmental support by signing-up to Ricardo’s offer as part of Defra’s Future Farming Resilience Fund (FFRF).

By joining the programme, farmers can take advantage of a free meeting at Thirsk Auction Mart on Monday 6th February between 7 and 9.30pm looking at untangling the farm accounts. North Yorkshire-based Christine Thompson from Agricultural Business Training will be delivering the workshop.

FFRF offers a range of support to help farmers prepare for the changes in agricultural policy over the next few years.

This programme includes: • Up to three days of free one to one Business support from an Andersons consultant • A one-day environmental review • Personal resilience support - partnering with the Farm Community Network • A programme of webinars and workshops located at Thirsk Auction Mart Christine Thompson said: “The Thirsk workshop will provide practical tips in farmer language to help participants better understand their accounts and use them as a practical business management tool.”

The meeting at Thirsk is being hosted by Fraser Hugill, a Yorkshire farmer and regional co-ordinator for the programme in Yorkshire and the North East.

Those signed-up for Ricardo’s FFRF offer will also be able to attend other workshops being held at Thirsk Auction Mart throughout the year looking at topics including environmental advice and the Sustainable Farming Incentive.
