A WELL-KNOWN health retailer is to lower the price of its winter flu jab service, to help more people access jabs this season.

Boots is reducing the price of its private Winter Flu Jab Service to £9.95 (down from £16.99) until March 31 - when the flu season and Boots winter flu jab service ends.

Boots private winter flu jab service is available for customers aged 16 and over in participating Boots pharmacies across the UK and in selected stores for children aged 12 to 15.

Stores offering the vaccinations include Scarborough Westborough and York Monks Cross Retail Park.

Boots also offers the free NHS flu jab as part of its winter Flu Jab Service for all patients aged 50 and over and other eligible groups

Claire Nevinson, Superintendent Pharmacist at Boots, said: "Flu is an unpleasant virus that can make you feel really unwell.

“Getting your flu jab is the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones and the NHs from the virus this winter.

“If you do catch flu after having been vaccinated, your symptoms are likely to be much milder.

“Having the flu jab also reduces the risk of passing the virus onto others.”
