FIREFIGHTERS were on the scene at a chimney fire at a home in Norton today (December 30).
Crews from Malton responded to the reports of a chimney fire at a residential premises at 3.30pm on Park Road.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The crews extinguished the fire using a working at height kit, hearth kit, chimney rods and one hose reel jet.
“The cause was accumulation of soot.”
