Who's heard of Frank Turner? Come on, hands up! Didn't think so.

I know a few of you reading this will know all about Frank Turner, and that is generally what happens with Frank Turner. Those who know of him really love what he does, but unfortunately not many people do actually know of him.

When I last caught Frank Turner at Fibbers I was in the crowd with around 80 other people and he was amazing. This time I was happy to see that I was part of the sold out Fibbers crowd who welcomed him back to York on the day of his brand new album release "Love Ire & Song".

Frank plays an acoustic, folk, punk mix with superb lyrics and a real talent for writing a catchy song.

His popularity is definitely growing and you can catch him across the UK this summer at loads of different festivals. When Frank hit the stage there was a huge cheer that really emphasised the "cult hero" status that he has acquired.

Frank played a great set featuring a couple of songs from his old album Sleep is for the Week'', but primarily songs from his new album.

The crowd went absolutely wild and there was a real sense of everyone being there to enjoy themselves, with not one scantily clad teenager, wearing various bright colours and the latest shoes, to be seen.

Frank really brings people of all ages together and I can honestly say I have never heard so many people sing along to an entire set in Fibbers as I did that night.

The set ended with "A Ballad of Me and My Friends" which had everyone singing along and enjoying the finale of what was a special night at Fibbers.

I'll leave you with some of Frank's lyrics that ended the final song and the set: "We're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell."
