A POPULAR café in a North Yorkshire town will hold a family fun day.

The Gavel and Bean café, located on the A170 road through Kirkbymoorside, will hold the event on Sunday, August 21, from 10am to 2pm.

On the day, there will be a birds of prey display by Whitby Falconers, a barbecue, face painting, charity stalls, ice cream, and more.

Entry to the event is free, but there is a £5 charge for anyone wanting to handle the birds.

There is also free parking.

Booking is not required on the day, with members of the public urged to come along.

The Gavel & Bean will be open as usual on the day from 9am-4pm, serving all-day breakfast, hot and cold lunches, York Emporium barista coffee and cakes.

Opening in December 2021, the popular café is the latest offering from Ryedale Auctioneers’.
