FIRE services were called to a campfire in the layby of a major North Yorkshire road last night (August 14).
An appliance from Malton responded to reports of a fire by the side of the A168 near Howe Bridge at 9.24pm, which turned out to be a campfire.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews extinguished the fire using buckets of water and gave advice to members of the public."
